                   "LITTLE THINGS"

   In looking for something to do, most people try to find
the big things, but the little things are the ones which, if
well done, will amount to the big things in the end.  Trifles
are not to be despised.  The nerve of a tooth, not as large
as the smallest needle, will sometimes drive a strong man
distracted.  The coral which causes a ship to founder is of
tiny insects.  The warrior who has withstood death in a
thousand forms on the battlefield may be killed by a small
insect.  Even a pea helps to fill a peck measure.  So it is
with our missionary work today. So many of us are looking
for big thing to do in the missionary field, big opportunities
in which to do things for the Master.  But it is the little
things that we find along the path of life that the Lord
wants each of us to do.
   Moments are the golden sands of time.  Every day is a
little life, and our whole life is a day repeated.  Those there-
fore who lose a day are dangerous prodigals, those who mis-
spend it are desperate.
   Springs are little things, but they are sources of large
streams; a helm is little, but it governs the course of a ship;
a bridle is a little thing, but see its use and power.  Nails
and pegs are little things, but they hold parts of large build-
ings together; a word, a look or frown are all little things,
but powerful for good or evil. Little acts are the elements
of true greatness.  They are the tests of character.  They
destroy or help to make the immortal man.  There are no
such things as trifles in the history of man.  Little things
in youth accumulate in age and destiny in eternity.



                REPORT OF TREASURER
Madam President, Officers and Members of the
Twenty-fourth Annual Convention of the Ohio
Conference Branch of the W. M. M. S.:
    With thanks and gratitude to our Heavenly Father and
to the faithful workers in the missionary cause, I desire to
submit the following report which will show greater receipts
from churches and a greater payment to our missionaries
than ever before. We regret that there are still a number
of churches where our missionary societies have not been
operative and  hope that during the coming year every
church will have an active organization.
