 signed to Africa, the Lord gave him a willing heart and a
 program to work out.  He said while millions are being
 raised for missions every year it was going to the other isles
 of the sea while Africa remains without much help.  He
 told how small the school was in West Africa, and by the
 help of God he intends to build a monument to the race that
 will last for ages, and God helping him when he gets on the
 boat in January he expects to have $50 000.  The offering
 for Bishop Brooks amounted to $102.00, the names to ap-
 pear in these minutes.
    On motion the Ohio Conference Branch pays $25.00 from
 contingent fund, making a total of $127.00.  With many
 thanks the bishop extends God's blessing upon this confer-
 ence.  Miss Brooker, an evangelist, sang very sweetly for
 Dr. Brooks  and  the convention,  "He  Will Take You
 Through."  A solemn pledge was taken by the delegates to
 return home and remember with prayers the work of Dr.
 Brooks and Mr. Tontsi in Africa.
    This hour was given to the children. The scripture
 lesson was read by Grace Woodson, fifth chapter Mark.
 The children sang the prayer.  The little folks sang and
 imitated the choo choo cars. The parable of the talents was
 recited by twelve boys and girls. "Guilty or Not Guilty"
 was beautifully recited by Katherine Thompson of the
 Young People's Department of Mt. Vernon Church. "Little
 Things," a paper read by Margaret Broadus of Allen Temple
 Mothers' Pearls, will appear in the minutes as read. A
 character song about two owls was sung by the children.
 Julia Twine recited "Service." A musical duet by Earl and
 Conova Gorden of the Young People's Auxiliary.  Two
 instrumental solos were played by the children.  The pro-
gram which was very good closed with a pantomine "Mother
Goose."
    Mrs. Elizabeth Culfer and Mr. Lemon, of the North Ohio
Conference Branch, were introduced.  An invitation was ex-
tended the convention to visit the Y. M. C. A. and  Mt.
Vernon A. M. E. church. On motion the session was called
for 8:30 p. m. Executive board meeting immediately after
supper.
                   Saturday Evening
   The evening session convened at 8:30 o'clock with de-
votionals conducted by Rev. Ridley. After singing spiritual
songs and a season of prayer led by Rev. Mathis this part
of the meeting closed. We then proceeded to business.
Mrs. Boler was appointed to go to Rev. Ridley's church.
Madam Smith to Mt. Vernon. The thank offering was
taken. The committee on recommendations reported by
Miss Gainos Taylor. The committee on Mission Study re-
ported by Mrs. Dora Hamilton.  Reports on recommenda-
