WOMAN'S MITE MISSIONARY SOCIETY 19
to do more for Christian Missions in the future than we
have ever done during our lifetime.
Knowing that child welfare is being discussed all over
the country and realizing that the children are the future
generation, be it resolved, that we read and study all litera-
ture that we can get hold of pertaining to the welfare of
the child.
Since our country is in a state of unrest, capital and
labor are contending for supremacy, profiteers are becoming
rich at the expense of the life's blood of the poor, Resolved,
That we go to Him who is the source of all good, humbly
asking Him to remove this condition from the country.
Whereas, The world stands shocked at the brutal atroci-
ties being heaped upon members of our race, mobs being
organized for the lynching of our race, Jim Crowism seems
to predominate some of the states, be it resolved, That we
condemn and protest against such outrages and we earnest-
ly urge that the United States Congress make lynching a
national crime and that Jim Crowism be wiped from the
earth.
Since the Senior Department of this convention has
taken up the work of helping build a mission school in
Basuto Land, Africa, be it resolved, That our Special Work
Payne's Theological Seminary be taken up by the Young
People's Department.
Since the success of any organization depends largely
upon the guidance of a leader, and since we recognize the
real constructive work which has been accomplished by our
president, Mrs. Edna Woodson, who is retiring at this con-
vention, who for ten years has stood at the head, made
many sacrifices and gave much hard labor to bring the con-
vention up to its present standard. Many souls have been
added to the missionary cause and more money has been
raised this year than ever in the history of the convention,
therefore, be it resolved, That we extend to her our hearty
thanks and best wishes for her years of continued service to
this convention.
Resolved, That the O. C. Branch W. M. M. S. co-operate
with the Ohio State Department of Health and the Ohio
Women's Federation of Social Health in their effort to ex-
tend the scientific education on sex hygiene to suppress
prostitution and venereal diseases and provide for defective
and delinquent women.
Resolved, That we extend to the Y. M. C. A. many thanks
