church reported. The vote was taken and 69 votes were
polled.  The Nominating Committee reported, and we pro-
ceeded to the election and the result was as follows: Presi-
dent, Mrs. Dovie Clark; First Vice President, Mrs. Nannie
Goode; Second Vice President, Mrs. Anna Mallory; Record-
ing Secretary. Miss Ara Warren; Corresponding Secretary,
Mrs. Minnie Carroll; Treasurer, Mrs. Viola Calliman; Con-
tingent Treasurer, Mrs. Josie Collins; Superintendent of
Prayer and Praise Committee, Mrs. Ada  Boler; Superin-
tendent of Young People's Department, Mrs. Eliza Johns;
Executive Board, Mrs. Edna Woodson, Mrs. Della Ward,
Mrs. Ophelia Rogers, Mrs. Eliza Johns, Mrs. Ira Collins.
   On motion the retiring president, Mrs. Edna Woodson,
was extended a rising vote of thanks for her faithful servi-
ices and that her meritorious services be given honorable
mention. Benediction, Rev. E. A. Clark.
   Note--Mrs. L. E. White reported as having reported and
turned over at the annual conference of 1919, $60.65.
             Sunday Morning, 10:30 O'clock
   The first hour the memorial services were held, con-
ducted by Mrs. Jennie White and Mrs. Minnie Carroll.
Many spoke on the lives of the deceased members. Singing,
"Shall We Meet Beyond the River?" closed the memorial
services.
   The morning services were opened with singing "Am I a
Soldier of the Cross?" Prayer by Dr. Carson. Singing, "I
Walk With the King." The Apostles' Creed was recited in
concert ending with "Gloria Patria." The fifth chapter of
the Gospel of St. Matthew was the morning lesson. Sing-
ing by a ladies' chorus. Mrs. Edna Woodson presented
Bishop J. H. Jones, the presiding bishop of the Third
Episcopal District, who delivered the annual sermon to the
convention. After his preliminary remarks telling of the
organization of the Mite Missionary convention held in St.
Paul's church 28 years ago, he noted the progress during
the years. He advised the women to be careful and not try
to be too independent of the brethren. He further advised
that we watch our ambitions and not try to lose the course
that God hath laid down and keep in mind the real mission
for what God intended. Be careful in selecting the ones
who are to lead. Do not choose a woman because she be a
bishop or preacher's wife, but rather choose a good con-
secrated woman fit for leadership. The theme of his dis-
course was "Overcoming of Evil With Good." He said in
part: How hard he had tried to overcome evil with good.
He spoke of how we could obtain this by doing good to those
that spitefully use you, loving your enemies. What we call
evil sometimes turns out for our best good. He thanked
