Representative Jere A. Brown (1841-1913)

Description:  Photograph of Jere A. Brown (1841-1913) - Cleveland, Ohio Republican politician who served as a state representative for two terms (1886-1887 and 1888-1889), sponsored legislation preventing life insurance companies from discriminating against Afro-Americans, and helped to secure the repeal of Ohio's "Black Laws". Hallie Q. Brown was Jere A. Brown's sister.
