Woman's Mite Missionary Society, Minutes of the Seventh Annual Convention, Cincinnati, 1903

The way that comes to me, is this:
For you and you and me
To be His stars and shine for Him,
  Wherever we may be.
Epistles, to, we then would be
And known and read of all.
This is the best of preaching,
  Everyone should heed this call.
Will you this kind of star now be
  Christ's guiding star of earth,
To shine for Him in darkest places,
And prove the Saviour's worth?
If so, in daily walks of life.
  Drive frowns with smiles away.
Give words of cheer to saddened hearts.
  Let in the sunshine's ray.
'Tis such sweet peace to serve Him thus,
  The path gets brighter still,
And smoother, too, as, day by day,
  We climb up Zion's hill.
As missionary workers true,
   We'll send our means abroad,
And teach the little heathen child,
To stretch its hand to God.
Be all our pray'rs and mites we send,
As bread that's cast on waters,
And seen and gathered days to come
   By Africa's sons and daughters.
 Be missionaries, boys and girls,
   In home, where mother dwells,
Show her, by loving services,
   That light which surely tells.
Be patient, kind to brother, sister,
   Let them your Saviour see;
This is the kind of guiding stars
   Jesus would have us be.
Our means, our time, ourselves, our all,
   Let's on His altar lay,
And say to Jesus, one and all,
   I'll follow Thee, each day.
