      during the week commencing on the 13th day of May 1860
                                                 Overseer.

                           Marien is in a bad situation.



            14  Monday.      14 plows running in cotton hoeing
                              cotton with the balence of hands
                            Very warm day
                            I am commenced planking up this House

            15  Tuesday.        14 plows running in cotton balence
Recevd                         of hands hoeing cotton I am planking
the Pease                      up the House Bob shearing sheep
30 bushels                    Frozen sick
Raind                         a tremedis rain wind blew blew down
at night                      some fence very hot day     
            16  Wednesday.          Ground very wet hoeing is a slow 
cotton                           business plowing with 14 plows in
hearh flat                       new ground back cut the day is clouddy
that I had                       & warm Bazzel hunting bull I am finished
cut to a                           planking round the overseer House
stand                              put up me a water shelf & hearh ston
            17  Thursday.              12 plows plowing in middle
Borrowed                               Very bussy finished going over the
2 bales of                           cotton with Hoes the first time commenced
Hay of                              cutting cotton to a stand
Mr Borham                           Bazzel went to the swamp after ox Bane Limber
                                    Very fine day for business very hot
            18  Friday.                  12 plows running on front cut next to
Dr Langly                              the house hoeing cotton cuting cotton
for Marrien                            to a stand the ground works nice
                                       Mule sick colic Stepney Dick Jo Claborn
                                       sick Bazzel found the bull hung to a tree
                                          Very warm day in the morning
            19  Saturday.                    14 plows running in new ground
Raind                                        halt cutting out cotton to a stand
ground                                       hands stopt several times for the
very wet                                     rain in the evening very warm
                                             I am Frozen Marrien Linsey sick
