Several remarks were made by various 

members in reference to the protection of the 

funds of the Ass. pending which the hour 

of adjournment per By Law having arrived the 

Pres. declared the meeting adjourned

             Monday Sep. 28th 1857

Meeting called to order.  Pres. in the chair  

The Chaplain then opened the meeting 

by prayer.  Roll was then called and 

all the members present responded 

to their names and settled monthly 

dues.  Minutes of last meeting were then 

read and approved.  A motion to extend 

the time of speaking from ten to fifteen 

minutes was then made but on final vote 

was lost.  On motion it was then resolved 

that the Treasurer be allowed the use of 

the funds for the period of Six months 

at 6 per ct. interest he agreeing to give 

his note with Security for the Same and ... 

agreeing to furnish the Ass. 

with the Sum of fifteen dollars at any 

call.  A note was thru signed by H. Boone 

and endorsed by Mr. Wm Smith and on 

being accepted by the Ass. was placed 

on file by the Sec.  The Subject of a 

Regalia for the Society was there taken 

up and discussed at considerable 

length.  After various propositions from 

different members the Ass. finally 

approved and adapted one which was 

presented in a rude forum by Mr. Geo 

W. Cooper.  However as it was not 

proposed to procure one immediately the 

matter was left open for further consideration
