  Mr John Shepherd was appointed 

   Treasuer of the Society

		Adjorned to meet at the 

    call of board of managers


	Red Oak Church August 11th 1836

  The Anti-Slavery Society of Ripley 

  met at the call of the managers

		  Opened with prayer

   On motion resolved that there be a 

  committee appointed to prepare resolutions

  expressing the views of this society on 

  the late procedings in Cincinnati

   The President anounced Rev. James 

  Gilliland Rev. James Dunlapp and 

  Mr Daniel P. Evans to committee 

  who immediately withdrew

  In the absence of the committee extracts 

  of the proceding of the mob in Cincin-

  nati was read and commented on 

    The Constitution of the society was
