  Redoak Church Dec. 26th 1836

     The Ripley A.S.S. met (persuent to 

  adjornment  Opened with prayer

    The President being absen the Rev 
  
   James Gilliland V.P. [crossed out words "took the chair"] presiden

	therepart of the board of managers 

  was presented and read and an motion the 

   same was accepted & approved

     therepart of the Treasuer was also received, 

   read, and approved

  out (A motion was made that a committe 

   be appointed to take into consideration the 

   propriety of purchasing the printing press of 

    the Ohio Whig which after discusion 

   was posponed         )

     A motion was als made that a sub

  scription be taken for the purpose of

  procureing a libery which after discuss

 -ion was pospond - it appear that our

   Treasuer was in the practice of keeping 

  Anti Slavery publications it is requested
