reference to the Anti-Slavery cause

inexpedient & uncalled for at the

present time", which was

unanimously adopted.

   The Society proceeded to

the election of officers for the

[crossed out word "Society"] ensuing year

re-elected President.  Rev. A. Gilliland

Treasurer & C.F. Campbell Secy

  Twenty three new members were added

  to the Society

                 adjourned to meet in

 Ripley on the 25th of Dec 1840
