    Russelville Dec. 25' 1847  The B.C.A.S. Society

met according to adjournment.  The pres. not being

present, J.H. Lockhart was called to the chair & W.G. Kephart

was appointed Sec. protem.

J. Dunlap WC Kniffin & J Shepherd were appointed a

committee to "Report Resolutions for the consideration of

the Society"  The Society proceeded to the Election of

officers for the ensuing year.  W.C. Kniffin was

chosen pres. D. Gilmer V.pres. J.H. Lockhart sec. & J Dunlap treas.

The Society agreed to hold the next annual meeting

at the Stone church of Reb Oak Dec. 25" 1848

 The committee on Resolutions reported the following

which after Some discussion was adopted vez=

"Resolved that the AntiSlavery cause, is the cause of God

& of Righteousness, and requires the combined influence of

all its friends, and that any division of feeling or action

among the opposers of this fearful evil, political & moral, is

of its self to be deplored"

 Adjourned to meet at the Stone church Red Oak
