Proceedings of the Twenty-First Annual Convention of the Ohio Conference Branch Woman's Mite Missionary Society Held in Brown's Chapel, A.M.E. Church, Cincinnati, Ohio, June 26th to July 2, 1917

10 MINUTES

prayer, Mrs. Nannie Holland. Next followed a chorus of
about seven voices of quite young children who, for beauty
and strength of tone, were truly remarkable in their ren-
dition.
Mrs. Tush introduced Mrs. Ada Boler, Superintendent
of Allen Temple Interemidate Society; Mrs. Broadus, Su-
perintendent of Allen Temple Intermediate; Mrs. Daley,
Superintendent Juniors, O'Byronville; Mrs. Wingfield, of
Batavia; also the President of the convention, Mrs. I. N.
Ross. Mrs. B. M. Carson was made known to us as an
evangelist; also the last introduction, Rev. Franklin, of
the M. E. Church.
Duet by Mrs. Edna Moore and Mrs. Marie White, young
women of the Intermediate Society of Allen Temple. A
paper by Miss Fannie Jordan, subject, "Missions;" instru-
mental solo, Miss Cooper; Masters Philip and Daly re-
cited for us, in concert, the names of all the books of the
Bible; duet by Misses Gertrude and Juanita Royce; re-
marks by Grace Woodson, President of Wilberforce
Juniors; cornet duet.
A playlet, by Allen Temple Interemdiates, showing how
to interest disinterested girls in Missions. The Juniors,
having Payne Seminary and its needs as their special
work, lifted a collection of $8.30, following an earnest ap-
peal by Dean Woodson, many giving twenty-five cents,
representing one penny for each year the Seminary has
operated.
After this, Mrs. Davidson, our Thank Offering Secre-
tary, conducted a beautiful service, many of the women
giving one dollar as a thank offering, and stating a few
reasons why they gave thanks. Mrs. Davidson read Psalm
97. Mrs. Ada Boler led us in prayer, and the convention
sang "Count Your Blessings." More than twenty-two dol-
lars was raised. The Allen Temple Intermediate Society
presented their bank, and after reading appropriate Scrip-
ture, broke it. The bank contained $2.90; this had been
collected during the year.
The Thank Offering Fund will have as its object this
year a quarterly stipend for Miss Amanda Mason of five
dollars each quarter during the school term, and will send
to Rev. J. Y. Tantsi, Bloemfontien, South Africa, twenty-
five dollars for the work in the field.
All sang "God Be With You Till We Meet Again," and
thus closed one of our most successful Sunday afternoon
meetings.
