Letter from W.C. Brown to Charles Young

Governor's Island, N.Y.
June 26, 1917

My dear Colonel Young:

This is just a line to
acknowledge receipt of yours of the
16th and to say that I not only
can sympathize with you but
will be glad to do what I can
to get you put on duty Status
again. I have some influential
friends in Washington and I sure
in hopes we can fix you up
right. I was examined this AM. By
the President of the Medical Society of the County
of NY who pronounced me fit for active
service which I of course knew all along
but I wanted to have a written statement
from a distinguished surgeon. Will write you
again soon when I have been able to work
up a "brief" in your favor Very sincerely W.C. Brown
