Letter from W.C.Brown to Charles Young
			
Governor's Island, N.Y.
June 27, 1917

My dear Colonel Young:-

         Replying to your letter 
I would say that it sets forth your 
side of the case so well that I 
have had an extract from it type 
written and sent it to the Asst Chief 
of staff with the suggestion that 
you be allowed to go to Des 
Moines and help out there. 
        With the hope that Col Ballou 
might also help prove his end of 
the line I've sent him a carbon 
copy of what I sent Gen. Neman.  
They should let you go as you wish 
and if you die will die in 
a good cause!  This is about what
