Letter from Balloy to Colonel Brown

					Fort Des Moines, Iowa,
						June 29, 1917.

My dear Colonel Brown:

Glad to get your letter and I feel a keen

sympathy for Young, and am glad you sent his letter to

the Chief of Staff.

Young is a capable officer. I did not know

he had been side-tracked. I have no personal ambitions

or personal axe to grind at this camp. My whole interest

is in attaining success in the great objective, and I will

be glad to have Young here, and to give him every possible

opportunity for any advancement he can get out of it.

						Sincerely yours,

							Ballou
