Letter from Jackson to Charles Young

Wabash Avenue Department
The Young Mens Christian Association of Chicago
Thirty seven sixty three Wabash Avenue
						Telephone, Boulevard 9540

Office of Executive Secretary May 16, 1918.

Col. Chas. Young,
U.S. Army Retired,
Wilberforce, Ohio.

My dear Colonel:

The inclosed copies of letter from Mr.
Scott and an order of Adjutant General McCain and tele-
gram from our Army & Navy Department at Washington will
explain themselves. It is with deep regret that we
find ourselves unable to overcome this insuperable ob-
stacle, but we sincerely hope that another time will
give us an opportunity of extending to you a suitable
welcome for the city of Chicago. We are very grateful
to you for your willingness to help us.

Wishing you every possible success, I am

					Sincerely yours,

					A.L. Jackson
					Executive Secretary.
