Dear Col. & Madam:

	My direction of the Captain, Company Newport 
Volunteers of the First Regiment, Liberian 
Army, I have the honor to inform you that a com-
pany of Ladies having recently organized 
themselves under the name and style, "Noble 
Veterans" I memory of Matilda Newport, LIBE-
RIA'S HEROINE, have elected you an Honorary 
Member.
	It may be well to mention that this organiza-
tion shall ever a stand as a living monument to 
this GREAT WOMAN.
		With sentiments of my high esteem,
		I have the honor to be,
