Timothy Thomas Fortune (1856-1928)

Description:  Print of Timothy Thomas Fortune (1856-1928), printer, journalist, and civil rights leader. Fortune was a prime mover in the founding of the National Afro-American League and the National African-American Council. He edited and was an owner of the "New York Age" from 1887-1907. The "New York Age" enjoyed the reputation of being the leading African-American newspaper of the day.
