Memorial Address [on Booker T. Washington] Delivered by Emmett J. Scott, Secretary, at 17th Annual Session

                            Chicago, Illinois,
                                August 18, 1916.
Dear Mr. Scott:
This is no formal note of thanks for your send-
ing me a copy of your Memorial Address at Kansas
City on the 16th of August. Nothing more ade-
quate and sympathetic has been spoken of Booker
Washington and his great work. I have read it
with keen pleasure and responsive feeling. I con-
gratulate you upon it most heartily and our In-
stitute upon its Secretary.
                Sincerely yours,
                   (Signed) EDGAR A. BANCROFT,
To Mr. Emmett J. Scott,
Tuskegee Normal and
Industrial Institute
