Civil War Stereoviews Collection

Photographs of African-Americans from the Civil War Stereoviews Collection SC5227. These stereoviews are part of a series entitled "Photographic History. The War for the Union." published by E. & H.T. Anthony & Co., American and Foreign Steroscopic Emporium, 501 Broadway, New York. Stereoviews are paired images made with a twin-lens camera, producing a three-dimensional illusion when viewed in a device called a stereoscope.
